Oh what a week!
Firstly we were honored to receive the Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award for 2014 as one of the top 25 B&B’s in Mexico. Thank you to all you wonderful clients who wrote such lovely reviews. I know how easy it is when one gets back to normal life after a vacation to forget do the reviews. So it is really appreciated. Look what you did for us!
Monday morning 14 of us gathered at the first Todos Santos Writers work shop. Our inspiring and generous workshop instructors for this week were;
- Jeanne McCulloch. Paris Review.
- Rex Weiner, Rolling Stone and other periodicals,
- Gordon Chaplin, distinguished author with a current memoir 'Full Fathom Five' gathering rave reviews.
A life changing week. I was stunned at the quality of writing that was achieved in such a short space of time. I’m already signed up for the next workshop in July.
Peter Buck of REM visited one afternoon and shared how his song writing process evolves. Rex Weiner led the conversation and asked all the right questions.
Sean the sheep had a birthday party with Donovan, our four year old returning guest, who had helped bottle feed him last year when he was a wee wooly lamb. Sean scoffed a lot of Donovans birthday cake.
We went boating in the Sea of Cortez.
The 3rd annual Todos Santos Music Festival continued into it’s second week, culminating in a free open air concert in the Plaza. The Twin Tones, from Mexico City, had the Plaza hopping with their blend of Mariachi Surf music.
...then a surprise jam session where Peter Buck and his pals were joined on stage by John Paul Jones of Led Zepellin.
All of this in tiny little Todos Santos.
Coming up... The Art Festival, The Film Festival with it’s opening night party in the Plaza, the 3rd Gastro Vino Festival.
I need a vacation!
